Now before you ask what a “prole” is. Allow me to explain. A prole is a term for a general class of working people. There is nothing wrong with being a marketing prole. You fit into the normal class of people. But who wants to be normal, right? If you associate yourself with any of these 5 signs, then turn the tide.

You Pay But Never Buy

Sounds confusing, right?

You are the type of person who pays for something in the spur of the moment but never uses that information to make more money.

People who buy something, use that information to make ten times the money on it and that is the difference. You don’t make use of what you have.

For example. If you buy a copywriting course for $2000. You need to make sure you make that amount of money 3 or 4 times over. Only then have you bought that resource.

You Don’t Have A Business Plan

You may think this sounds ridiculous, right? I mean, who goes into something without a plan?

You may think that buying an e-book is considered having a plan? You don’t feel the need to do extra research when in fact it is that extra research that will determine if you are successful or not.

A business plan doesn’t have to be complex. It can be as simple as: “Finding X market, build a list of X market selling them Y product, then selling them Z product after they bought Y product”

I might have butchered that, but you get the idea.

Create a business plan.

You Have Nothing To Offer

Some business people have a complex opt-in system. They know many ways to get their customers’ details, building a huge email list only to have nothing to offer…

Like, seriously?

You need to know what you want to sell. It is important to get the right market first, but equally important to know what you are going to offer. Marketing proles do all the hard work but forget the most basic of selling principles. Have something to sell.

Let me simplify it. Find market > Get contact details > Make a list > Sell them a product> Sell another product after they bought the first one.

You Are Always Complaining About How Hard It Is

You might be someone who complains about everything in business. You whine about how hard copywriting is, for example. No one likes needy people. They don’t care enough to ask you why, in fact, they will very well laugh at you while you are whining. Don’t do it. Carry on and get through it.

The only exception to this rule is if you whine about something but want to turn it into a lesson.

You Use The Default Affiliate Forms On Email Apps For Affiliate Marketing

You have an email marketing setup and need to do some email flows to your affiliates. Let’s say we are using an email marketing app like Klaviyo, for example. You are an email marketing prole if you use the default email template that comes with the app.

There, I said it!

Even if you suck at email, it doesn’t take a lot to make better emails than the ones the app recommends. The whole point is to get an edge over your competitors. Get ahead of most people who are following the EXACT email templates by doing your own.

Don’t put yourself into a pool of millions.

Marketing proles are not bad people. At heart they very hardworking. People can make these kinds of mistakes in marketing. If you hit well with one of these signs, then it isn’t too late to make a change.
