successful people

Sometimes achieving success seems like an elusive goal. How are some people are far more successful than others? Waking up at 4 am and taking cold showers don’t set them apart. But a few realistic and smart habits make them success magnets. Let’s see what these habits are and how they can help you to achieve success.

1- Set S.M.A.R.T Goals

Vague goals are hard to achieve. Getting demotivated or going off the track midway is easy. However, if your goals are crystal clear and S.M.A.R.T then the chances of success increase by 80%.

What are S.M.A.R.T. goals?

S- Specific

M- Measurable

A- Achievable

R- Relevant

T- Time-bound

Example:

“I want to become a LinkedIn Influencer.”

It looks like a clear goal but it’s a bit vague and not at all S.M.A.R.T.

Let’s add some more details to it.

“I want to become a LinkedIn Influencer by creating valuable content and engaging with other creators.”

“I will measure my growth through the number of followers and engagement.”

“It’s achievable because I have experience in content creation in the past.”

“I will create copywriting-related content on LinkedIn to grow my copywriting business.

“I will post and engage daily for one month and gain 500 followers.”

Did you see, what happened here? You have now a clear plan of how and why to achieve the actual goal.

Write it down on a piece of paper and stick it somewhere you see daily. When you feel demotivated or get off-track, this paper will pull you back into the game.

2- Effective Time Management

Time management can be a tricky task especially if you have more than one priority in life. However, once the goals are set, time management becomes relatively easier.

Learn to prioritize by trying to tackle the most urgent tasks first.

Time-blocking is another effective technique that helps finish specific tasks in a designated time without any distractions.

Do not multi-task, take breaks and delegate some tasks if you have a lot on your plate.

3- Continuous Learning

Learning is a lifelong process and that’s what sets apart successful people. They make it a habit to read or learn new things on a regular basis. Doing so not only develops new skills but helps you to advance in your career and achieve your goals faster.

There are multiple sources which can add to your learning such as books, podcasts, educational videos, and a community of like-minded people. Just pick something that works for you.

4- Networking

Being an introvert, this used to be my least favorite activity until I discovered the true power of it. Nothing brings an insane amount of opportunities like networking does. If you don’t show up and tell people what you do, they will not know they need you. This is the most powerful weapon of successful people.

5- Self-care

To achieve success, it’s important to work hard but let’s not forget the needs of our body in the process. It needs rest and re-fueling from time to time. When your emotional, mental or physical well-being is ignored for too long then it affects your overall performance.

Therefore, always prioritize your well-being and then work on your goals. Success will be yours.
